EDP Electric Vehicle Charge
EV Charge is Electricity of Portugal (EDP)’s B2B solution for Electric Vehicles Charging. This service is offered to businesses so that employees can charge their vehicles at work. The platform is available nationwide with 1.500+ charging stations north to south. The digital solution I designed catered to two profiles - the employees for charging their vehicles and the employer for managing accounts and expenses.

Research
I chatted with Business and Electric Car owners to understand their needs and frustrations from the perspective of one charging a vehicle and an administrator’s perspective.
I looked at other platforms that provide the same type of service to identify the most common and successful features.
Definition & Ideation
As mentioned before, we had to create two profiles to cater to the needs of service users (car owners) and service admins (business owners). I have decided to create a mobile version for those looking to charge their phones and a desktop version to allow easy for easier administration. Profiles had different features available to them.
App Map User profile
I mapped out user flows for the main tasks to identify the possible scenarios, options, paths, and error cases a user would encounter when starting a new charging session. In this flow, I had to consider situations of users that had no chargers assigned to their profile, or when chargers were not detected by the mobile app. Some chargers had to be scanned to be recognized by the app, and users had to give Camera Permission to do so, all these requirements had to be considered at this stage of the product definition.
Start charging session user flow
I used the flow to design low-fidelity wireframes to outline some of the app’s main screens.
Design
The Look and Feel of the App were created based on the existing Commercial EDP brand book and materials developed for other actions and campaigns related to sustainability. Using the typography and color palette we developed a set of elements and components optimized for desktop and mobile.
